I have been hoping to go rockpooling over the easter holidays with Oscar but wasn’t inspired in the cold damp conditions. Yesterday the bitter easterlies gave way to some gentle south west winds and it felt warm in the sun.
With low spring tides we headed to our favourite spot way out on the reef at Wembury. This area is only exposed briefly on low spring tides and is excellent for rockpooling. We soon found several Cornish Clingfish, Shannies, a Shore Rockling and Squat Lobster then put them in a tank and sketched them until the tide forced us to retreat.
